Andre Chang. /əˌvɑntˈgɑrd, əˌvænt-, ˌæv ɑnt-, ˌɑ vɑnt-; Fr. a vɑ̃ˈgard/. n., 1. Designer/ Stylist/ Contributing Fashion Editor 2. Walking Art 3. Revolutionary of Philippine Fashion.
Drafting the idea of showcasing the Metro’s distingué and top-drawers of fashion, I immediately wrote Andre’s name in big, bold letters accompanied with a doodle of a stick figure (my drawing skills can be likened a toddler’s expertise in art) in Mohawks and combat boots. Where’s a better takeoff than at the tip-top? Andre have ducked the ordinary and have always been a parry from …

The presence of global brands in our fashion industry unquestionably poses a challenge to our striving local brands. However, I do not see this as any form of hitch or detriment to products produced domestically. Rather, it ought to be considered as a needed kick and push. It sets the stage, the globalization of trends, I believe, is a way of squeezing positive competitiveness. Leading to augmented quality, innovative strategies and a more strategic branding.

The girl with the biggest bouquet walk the tallest, as if she just earned her college degree, aided a dog in giving birth to her puppies or learned how …

Quaint and plush – my first impressions of Bellini Champagne Lounge.
For our mini Christmas get-together our friend Lakam suggested an after-dinner wine and cheese at Bellini. Though not a wine habitué, I looked forward to the company and the cheese platter – which I loved!
Bellini is a fairly new al fresco lounge in Cebu which offers an astonishing view of the city. The interior is like a potpourri of European and Tropical charm, adorned with lush Dedon furniture. The lighting adds up to the beauteous ambiance.
Bellini’s champagne menu …

My first time in Cebu was back in 2002 with my family, we flew in time for the yearly Sinulog festival. I can vividly remember that I thought Cebu will be mostly rice fields, immaculate beaches, undeveloped areas with poorly lit restaurants and girls clad in long skirts and loosely fitted shirts. Cebu proved me wrong. I can call to mind that on our last night there, my sister and I partied in what was called The Village then (now called The Walk). Being underage, my dad surprisingly allowed us …
