If the young group behind Blanc cannot be considered VERY, VERY talented then I do not know what can be. They once dreamed of being in the cover of a magazine and they thought “why not create one?”. Viola! Blanc Magazine Online was conceived. According to Matt Aesthetics, who have resigned himself to a whole lot of sleep and rest, it wasn’t easy as they have been working on their first issue for months now. But young talents of their caliber sure make it look like a piece of cake …

Leave it to the young, emerging talents to break rules and establish new ones. Leave it to them to bring something new and bizarre to the table. Leave it to these budding souls to be quasi-paralyzed in front of their computers one day and be fired up and inspired the next. Leave it to them to stun you when they reveal that they were born in the 90s yet seems to be as talented as those who have been in the know-how since the 70s.
Standing outside, with a smoke in …

Alcohol is packed like sardines in my dad’s mini bar in our old house. Come his birthday, he’d get tons of gift most of which comes in ribboned bottles or boxes that can put beautiful gift wrappers to shame. Back in highschool, beset with a petty heartbreak (also known as my-world-is-ending-take-me-now-my-crush-did-not-notice-me pickle or as our parents call it – “HAHAHAHAHA”) coupled with my running amok curiosity- I gave in, I tried, I tasted. And I. Did. Not. Like. It. One. Bit. After much choking and some self-imposed vomiting I vowed …

When Kwey, a friend from Ateneo, asked for my help in inviting Cebuano bloggers for a blogger’s Spa Hangout in Beauty and Butter, a newly opened nail spa/salon in SM, I was excited and hesitant at the same time. Excited because, well, who wouldn’t be if you were offered free pampering? Hesitant because I do not know many bloggers from Cebu. However, I brushed off any nib of reluctance and invite Cebuano bloggers I did. To my delight, in spite of the short notice, they all promptly replied and were …

At the peak of my pregnancy, as expected, my weight ballooned to colossal proportions. I am only 5″4 and on average, my weight is just between 118-125 lbs. But come my 9th month, I was up to 172lbs! One. Big. Hundred. Huge. Seventy. Whopping. Two. Jumbo. Pounds. My OB wasn’t very happy as she told me to just limit my weight gain to 2lbs per month at the first trimester and 4 lbs the succeeding months. I apparently failed miserably.
I gave birth to the cutest litol baby last May and …

My dad will not be happy.
Sheer tops have transcended the fine-drawn confines of the runways. By some means this fashion trend is somehow tabooed as it is bordering the lines of classy and tacky. But dillydally no more as this trend are making a scene in the streets already. Sheer is also prevalent in the formal wears of the season, exuding effortless elegance as swish-swooshed in the collection of Emilio Pucci, J. Mendel and Chloe to name a few. It can also be edgy, bold and daring as seen in …

I have always mooned on the thought of raiding the Olsen’s walk-in and Duma’s wardrobe but I wouldn’t mind making a stop in Kryz Uy’s closet. This young Cebuana, the creative director and owner of the Cebu-rooted clothing brand, WAGW (What a Girl Wants) have already marked a spot in our fashion industry and she did it all by doing what she loves – dressing up. She can incorporate different styles through layering, mix and match without straying away from her usual polished, clean and put-together look. Her outfits are …

If there is such a place as a rehab for people who are immensely addicted to sunglasses then I might as well change my address to where it is located. Any dearly concerned relative will whip me there in a piggyback ride as I imagine I will be highly sedated due to the denial that I am indeed obsessed. Then while inside the rehab I will be talking to my imaginary cohorts named Chanel half-tint and Tom Ford Farrah.
I’ve been collecting sunnies for quite awhile now. It started when I …

Cebu Young Designers Competition 2011 Finalist, Apparel Division: Orville Biongcog
Style Cebu (SC): Define beautiful.
Orville: Well beauty has always been skin deep to me. But I think that in today’s society, they choose physical attributes over character. Artificial and superficial are very much appreciated. Beauty is also an internal jigsaw puzzle that displays an outward picture; you have to have all of the pieces to have a complete picture.
SC: How will you define your style?
Orville: The messier the better.
SC: What are your favorite pieces in your wardrobe?
Orville: Shirt and jeans.
SC: Whose …
