VUDU’s 9th Anniversary: The Notable 9

This February 24-27, 2010, VUDU celebrates its 9th Anniversary as the definitive nightstyle institution in Cebu. To those in the know, VUDU is not just a nightspot. It is a movement. It continues to push the envelope and redefine itself and the nocturnal culture and lifestyle of Cebu.  It has become an institution, spanning generations and defying time and trends.

To mark the notable ninth cycle of its existence, nine bars that have shaped the Philippines’ nightlife converge for four nights in one house to celebrate this monumental occasion: Formo, The Abbey, seveneightorange, Capone’s, Encore Superclub, Fiamma, NU.VO, Euphoria and VUDU. 

Wednesday, February 24: A Night of Evocative Fashion and Fierce Disco

The four-day shindig commences on Wednesday, February 24 as FABRIC heads to VUDU with a fashion show that brings together in one room today’s revered forces in fashion in honor of Alexander McQueen: Jun Escario, Oj Hofer, Protacio Empaces, Philip Rodriguez, Arcy Gayatin plus Russian designer Vanda Fondunaeva. The show will be directed by Edwin Ao, hosted by Cacay Moras and will feature the Models Association of Cebu (MAC Models) wuth accessories from OroTime and Noreen Tseng. The party continues as NU.VO resident DJ Arnel spins a magical web of 80s and 90s for more dancing and disco, hosted by the father of Philippine nightlife Mr. Louie Y and Encore’s Stephen Ku.

Thursday, February 25: Pop Punk and Rock and Roll

On Thursday, February 25, Get ready for a night of pop punk and rock with CAPONE’S and the boys of OVERTONE, hosted by Jay Server. Déjà VUDU will also feature the Purple Helmets with their take on the 80s, modern rock and new wave covers.   

Friday, February 26: Dual Level Partying with Hiphop and House

Thank your party gods it’s Friday on February 26, as ENCORE’s Sleepless DJ Ronian Poe  and FIAMMA’s RnB sensation, DJ Euric give you a double treat with Hiphop and RnB at the Main Room hosted by ENCORE’s Erik Cua and FIAMMA’s Carlo Trillo.  

Saturday, February 27: Nine acts all in celebration of one institution’s nine notable years.

The celebratory mood climaxes on Saturday, February 27 with a party that will be one for the books.  There will be history, a little bit of fantasy and a whole lot of good vibes. Together in one house will be FORMO’s Hans Congmon, the ABBEY alumni and VUDU’s Maxie Perez with premier club DJ Marlon Orellano. NBK, seveneightorange and the pioneers of house music in the country, Manolet Dario and Bombi “The Bomb” Balquiedra with the special live performances of Chico Cristobal on guitar and Bea Tantoco on vocals. All of that at the Main Room, while VUDU’s RnB prince DJ Kutlyfe at the Prive’ with Richard Sharpe on the mic.

To thank all VUDUphiles who have made 9 years possible, VUDU will have an open bar on selected drinks on Friday and Saturday from 9:00 pm until 11:00 pm. VUDU is located at the Crossroads, Banilad, Cebu City and is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6 p.m. onwards.
