Havaianas Newest Must-Havs Had Manila’s stylish lot raving
Manila’s trendiest celebrities flocked to Havaianas City as the world-famous fashion brand launched its latest must-Hav to the media and stylish icons of the metro.

The event introduced the Havaianas Bag Collection—the newest addition to the fashionable family, bearing the same tasteful DNA as that of its rubber flip-flops. With make-up from SHU UEMURA and hair styling from Kiehl’s, the event was not only watched by Manila’s stylistas but by thousands of viewers online via live broadcast courtesy of Smart Communications. Robby Carmona, director of the fashion show, described the whole concept of the show as a showcase of the different characteristics of the bag. With the same sense of functional style, these new fashion statements from Havaianas showcased the basic features that define the chic brand. True enough, Myrza Sison, Editor-in-Chief of Spot.ph, commented that, “The new bag collection is so utilitarian that function will now give meaning to form and not the other way around.”
Super stylish fashion designer Hindy Tantoco, also gave her thumbs up on the Havaianas bags. “Everybody loves bags and everybody needs bags. Havaianas bags are easy to mix and match just like the flip-flops because they are so versatile that you don’t have to think about it too much,” said Hindy.

Self-confessed Havaianatico Pia Magalona, who owns at least 150 pairs of Havaianas flip-flops, raved about how her favorite brand has evolved. “I’m all for evolution when it comes to fashion because I know how important it is for brands to innovate. That’s why I find it so nice that Havaianas has found a venue where consumers like me can complement their flip-flops through the stylish and functional bags that we have right here,” she says.

Aside from using the same rainbow of colors as the flip-flops, the different bag styles are subtly ingrained with distinct Havaianas elements: the rice pattern on the soles of the flip-flops and the Greek pattern on the straps of the flip-flops are integrated into the different bag styles. Havaianas also reinforced the bag’s durability by integrating familiar rubber elements that provide sturdy yet stylish bases, straps and locks. The round rubber buttons used to keep the flip-flops’ soles and straps together can also be found detailing the bags, locking-in the Havaianas DNA.
