Doe eyed, almond shaped eyes and large kinds should give thanks to Maybelline New York’s newest addition to our eye makeup - the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Maybelline gives you drama and it comes in the form of a pot.

What we love about it:

-it doesn’t have a strong chemical scent
-not heavy on the lids when applied
-smudge-proof
-sweat-proof
-inexpensive
-might last for 6 months of use

Some cons:

-the brush doesn’t have a small pouch
-takes too long to remove after

One thing I noticed though after taking it off with makeup remover (yes, you need this because water won’t suffice sometimes), my eyes get irritated and I have to take off my contacts because the lids get itchy. It happened twice but I’m still not giving up on the darn thing. Maybelline’s Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner has a tapered, dense and fairly stiff synthetic bristles for a liner brush. The pot comes in Black, Brown and Blue (Limited Edition). I couldn’t help but compare it to the MAC Paint Pot but that is going to be another story.

How to apply gel eyeliner:

Gently lift corner of the eye to get ample coverage
Dab brush and get some gel on it. A little goes a long way.
Cover the pot.
Use a makeshift palette such as the back of your hand.
Start with a thin line than gradually thicken it.

Don’t take your sweet time to apply the liner and leave the pot open because the gel might harden into the pot. As much as possible, cover the pot once you start applying it on your lids. A gel eyeliner is a far cry from your usual eyeliners. If you start using one, it means you have graduated from your pencil eyeliner and dip liquid eyeliners.
