Fashion Show at the USC CAFA Building

5 November 2009 273 views 2 Comments

It’s all about breaking conventions and going with your gut instincts: what looks good, what feels good, what looks right, and what you think is best. Last October 3, students of Advertising Arts Majors, 4th Yr Interior Design Majors and the rest of Cebu watched the (CAFA) Fashion Show at the University of San Carlos (USC) College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) lounge. The fashion show followed two hours after the ribbon cutting at 4pm.

Audience went hog wild. Out came Jay Basiga then designer after designer pranced, walked, and strutted their models. These kids (sorry I have to say that, turning a year older makes you feel like saying that) will become the newest labels come what, 2013? Models from AD such as Aiko Aktub, Matet Gorgonio and Blinky de Leon from MAC and students followed the movie inspiration theme, The Hollow Man, to the core.

Patricia Zosa and James Cañete, the organizers, said of the participating class, “It was a whole class (two, actually), since Costume & Fashion Design is one of the subjects of both 3rd Yr Advertising Arts Majors and 4th Yr Interior Design Majors for this sem. And the final exam is usually a fashion show. The majority chose movies for this show’s theme. And the designs were just categorized into different genres, mainly Romance, Action/Adventure and Sci-Fi/Thriller.”

The CAFA Fashion show was brought to you by Photoshop and Radical Ads. Minor Sponsors are USC Advertising Arts Association (A3), Rural Bank of Cebu South; Donors are CALDA Pizza, Filmon Hardware, Inc., Elle Stefania Garcia; and, their media partners are Monster Radio BT 105.9 and StyleCebu.com
