CEBU, PHILIPPINES, September 1, 2009 - Bijoux Cebu 2009, Cebu’s own international fashion accessories trade show, will be happening again this year at Shangri-la’s Mactan Island Resort And Spa on September 26-28, 2009. The event’s organizer, Cebu Fashion Accessories Manufacturers And Exporters Foundation (Cebu FAME Foundation), plans to make this year’s show open to the public.

As export trade shows are normally for trade only and limited to foreign buyers, making the show open to the public is something exciting and new.

To add value to the public’s visits, there will be a lifestyle bazaar at the Shangri-la Gardens.

“The lifestyle bazaar will feature 100 exhibit booths displaying the best Philippine products from across the country,” said Mr. Butch Carungay, Bijoux Cebu Chairman.

“These are all export quality items for both our foreign buyers and local visitors to appreciate.  For the duration of the show, these items will be sold at factory prices with special discounts.”

Exhibitor Profile includes costume jewelries, bags, footwear, garments, home décor and furnitures, tourism products and services.

A special highlight for the lifestyle bazaar is a fiber exhibit. The United Nations has declared the year 2009 as the International Year Of Fiber.  In line with this, Philippine fibers will be on display during the show.

“We have delegates coming from Region 6, long known as our country’s source of fiber,” Carungay said.

“They will be displaying the different types of fibers available in our country.  There will also be finished products made from these fibers on sale during the show.

As a special attraction, we will also have weavers at the Craft Demonstration Area who will demonstrate how these fibers are developed into the finished products.”

In addition to the lifestyle bazaar and craft demonstrations, Bijoux Cebu will also have daily fashion shows, design and stranding competitions, and the ongoing export exhibit at Shangri-la’s Marquee Ballroom.
