Jillian Dempsey for Avon Cosmetics

Avon Products, Inc., has announced a collaboration with celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey, a beauty industry icon and the wife of Grey’s Anatomy hearthrob Patrick Dempsey and is now working to rebrand Avon and its flagship color brand. Jillian Dempsey has been the creative brains, founder and owner of now defunct Delux cosmetics that made Allure magazine name Delux Beauty Lip Gloss as the “Best Lip Gloss” in their Editors’ Choice Awards. Why a prestigious cosmetic brand decided to switch to the masses is beyond me.

“Avon was the only beauty brand in my house when I was growing up. I’ve always known it was a global beauty leader. As a makeup artist, I am passionate about helping women recognize their own beauty, and so it’s an honor to collaborate with Avon and embrace their philosophy that every woman can have great style,” Jillian said. You have to give props to my officemate who goes around the place and secretly hands out brochures from every imaginable direct selling brand you can think of: Red Logo, Triumph, Avon and etc. I managed to order a Jillian Dempsey for Avon in Heavenly Blush. The super fine powder gives your face a pretty sunkissed flush.

Although I had to put it on three times to see results (imagine how faint the first coat is), I really don’t want to destroy the pretty embossed floral design with my small brush. $12.

    Oh, the color of the blush looks really nice! Peachy and pinkish. Am I seeing a hint of gold? Or are my eyes fooling me? Haha! :) I would love to have that. I’ll check an Avon brochure later. ;)
