Freeway celebrates Philippine Arts
If you have not heard of the fiasco that the National Artists of the Philippines had against our President Arroyo for putting labels on her “cohorts” as THE SUPPOSEDLY hailed artists of the Philippines, then perhaps we should give props to Freeway for advocating Philippine national artists this season. To show its support to past deserving recipients of the National Artist Award, Freeway will be showcasing its National Artist Collectors’ Series this fall. Such stylish advocacy, mind you.
Freeway introduces its new collection commemorating the National Artists of the Philippines. Freeway fully affirms its support in paying tribute to past deserving recipients of the National Artist Award through its the Freeway National Artist Collectors’ Series. The first of the series features the beautiful works of Literary Genius Nick Joaquin as interpreted by Freeway in this pocket collection.
Nicomedes Márquez Joaquín, popularly known as Quijano de Manila, “was a Filipino writer, historian and journalist, best known for his short stories and novels in the English language.” Some of his famous published works include The Summer Solstice, The Woman Who Had Two Navels, A Portrait Of The Artist as Filipino, May Day Eve, and Cave and Shadows. He received a National Artist Award in 1976.
Happy shopping Cebu! I’m sure it will be treat to wear this collection and feel nationalism in the fashion sense. More PI pride, here, StyleCebu. Freeway is located in 2/F Ayala Center Cebu.
