Stylecebu Street Style | Kaleidoscope Exhibit

Something about the sight of all that smoke and fashion finds at the Kaleidoscope show on Sunday made you think of an all-day shopping spree, the kind where blues would equate to yellows (yes, the 1000s and the 500s). And then the waif AD models’ Gwen Trott, Ana Andrada, Sharon, Chai and everyone else appeared in sugary pink Lava dresses, What a Girl Wants, Space, and the men, oh, yes. Hot fashion Aref and Alfonse in Diego. Oh, so much to anticipate! Read Maryanne Benedicto’s recount from last weekend’s soiree. Photos are taken by Joven Morales. Thanks, babe!

A fashion show was held last Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Ayala Activity Center featuring clothes from different stores in the mall.

With the collaboration of the AD Models Homme ET Femme, Jessie Glova for the maquillage and different stylists of Cebu, last Sunday’s event was brough to you by The Style Firm, Ayala Center Cebu, Canon, Photoshop, and Colours Digital Foto. The Kaleidoscope Art and Fashion was directed by Dexter Alazas from the Stylefirm and head of the AD Model Agency.

Each stylist was assigned a certain store for their looks: Edward Castro for Maldita, Dodgie Lamosao for Regatta and Bench, Yves Camingue for Bleach Catastrophe, Lorymer Villareal for Lava, Dexter Alazas for Diego, Harvey Cenit for Iora, Pops Bacatan for What a Girl Wants and Blenn Suan for Space.

Different crowds attended the event. Kristine Roa of StyleCebu.com said that, “The fashion show did justice to the brands that Ayala hold - WAGW, Diego, Space, Lava and even more. They have actually held several of these shows and some brands deserve time to shine, too. The show was dynamic and I couldn’t think of anyone who could present the brand with class and style than the AD MODELS.”

The main purpose of the show was to promote the photo exhibit of the famous [fashion] photographer Joseph Ong, said Dexter Alazas. The exhibit started last July 23, 2009 and will continue until July 31, 2009. Its theme Kaleidoscope, given by the Ayala Management, was a challenging interpretation for Joseph Ong. He expresses that it is “…freedom: a mouthful of explanation on my personal devotion,” and, “an appliqué of figures, a concoction of colors, and slice of the unusual.”

Say hi to Master Joseph himself :)

The photo exhibit was appreciated by many. One of the spectators, Patrick Rizarri, shares that, “[On a personal note,] I really enjoyed the Kaleidoscope Collection because not only was it an expression of how an individual sees the world in his point of view, but how it contains such intricate detail on every aspect of the shot. From the model, to the clothes and most importantly the concept - balance from all sides creates first-class and spectacular photos. Just like a kaleidoscope - every look is different but perfect in every angle. An old saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Joseph Ong’s Kaleidoscope Collection is worth more.”
