Ever since I realized that there is no way I am going to have my best hair days in summer considering that the heat outside is 300 degrees to split-endsville and chlorine and keratin mixed equals to disaster (you are spending more time in the beach or at the pool, right?), I now turn to hats as an excuse for those mahangin-ba-sa-labas moments.

Hats are meant to frame your face and yes, to keep those tresses away. The best hats this summer come in four various shapes and sizes:

1. Fedoras. I wouldn’t mind wearing one at a club. So chic. Perfect for round or square faced shapes.

2. Bowler Hats. Ah.My favorite! Since Leighton Meester donned this cute bowler at A New Haven Can Wait Episode of Gossip Girl 2, it became my personal favorite. The bowler hat, also known as a coke hat or derby, is hard felt with a rounded crown.

3. Sun Hat. Straw Hats. Wide brimmed Hats. Organdy is the sheerest cotton cloth made. Elegant and fashionable. The wider the better. They can protect not just your face but also your shoulders.

4. Cloche Hats. Fancier and prettier version of the bowler, the cloche hats look vintage enough to be worn in galas and Summer fashion shows, eh?

Hat styles vary according to head shapes at the same time. Your summer hat is worn best with sweatbands inside to avoid those wet strands that just get in the way all the time. Try customizing yours by placing a self adhesive terry cloth band around the insides.
