SINULOG Weekend is 3 days and 48 hours of panic-sessions to go! You can’t just go, “Sneakers? Check. Umbrella? Check. Stun gun? Check,” and claim that you are absolutely prepared for Sinulog weekend. Under this duress must we exercise the power of smart planning which means that an outdated coat does not count… unless the weather decides to flirt with disaster and wreak absolute havoc on our outfits. More reason to panic, Cebu, but we certainly have to girlscout-esque ourselves to avoid falling flat on our faces. Literally!

Stylecebu Do:

a. bring a pair of shades
b. wear a hat. This Notting Hill cap from Guess? Women is the killer.

c. sport sturdy flats
d. carry an umbrella
e. hire a bodyguard
f. a fan
g. apply concealer with SPF. Loving the La Praire Cream with SPF 15

h. wear sunblock
i. hold a handy camera – the bigger, the better
j. carry a walkie-talkie – in case your friend needs help with navigation. I want, I want.

Stylecebu Don’t:

1. …put on your iPod. In case of a stampede, you might want to hear everything that is going on around you.
2. …park near baseline. Hours after the revelry, you might have a hard time looking for your car. Just wish for the best.
3. …flash your 22K white gold chain. Snatchers abound.
4. …wear clip-on earrings right now. Not smart.

SINULOG DRESS CODE: Be as carefree as you can be! Best to blend in with the crowd. I fear for dresses because anything could happen and by anything could be the kids-running-slipping-grabbing-on-to-your-skirt or road-slippery-you-slipping-and-showing-off-your-slip kind of anything. Shorts are fun, vests, wifebeaters – who cares? It’s SINULOG!
