Happy New Year CEBU!

Now that our calendars have started zeroing on 2009’s monthly boxes, it is just gospel that as early as January, those boxes are already full with red-letter dates. The Queen City of the South doesn’t just fill out her planner with social events but she fills it out with social events!

Just because the last digit of the year is replaced doesn’t mean 2008 could easily be cast off like that. History always has everything to do with our decisions in the future that is why if you look at the economic forecast for 2009, you might need to look back on your 2008’s personal expenditure. Talks of a recession are rampant but we always have end of the season sales to look forward to and perhaps maintain some financial probity, yeah?

What do we expect in 2009? StyleCebu last year has managed to witness the politics of dressing up and observed that yes, not only to each has her own, but style  can be achieved in the most minimalist way as possible. Style still harbors on attitude, personality and individuality. No one is going to claim you  a demi-God  just because you are wearing a Sal Malto maillot. Like how we are raised, we look up to the people in authority and follow what they mandate. The mandate has a life span of what, 2 months, and someone else claims again another until you find yourself storing those $200 pair of boots you got on eBay and wished that maybe in the next quarter it will be uso again.

This is that time of year when we are up to our necks storing what we can fit into our closets. Should we recycle pieces that might help with a “2009 look”? Should we do the “Out with the old, in with new” dogma? Or Britney Spear ourselves and do a Circus ?
